The petitioner is accused in connection with Katra P.S. Case No. 199 of 2019, registered under Section 387 of the Indian Penal Code, pending in the court of Sub-Judge-15thACJM-14, Muzaffarpur. The accusation is that on 27.08.2019, at about 3.15 P.M., informant being the Sub-Registrar of Katra was present in his chamber. At that time, one person entered in his chamber and asked about his designation. When the informant replied that he is Registrar and asked about his work then that person asked to give Rs.20,00,000/- within a week otherwise he will be killed. Thereafter, that person also took out the pistol from his

Thereafter, Manish Choudhary (petitioner) identified on visualizing in CCTV footage. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would appear from the FIR that, in fact, money was not delivered by informant on creating fear by this petitioner and the petitioner only asked to give Rs.20,00,000/- and moved from the Chamber of the informant. Further submission is that petitioner is in custody since 11.02.2020.
Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of allegation against the petitioner and considering the criminal antecedent of the petitioner, as detailed in paragraph 3 of the petition, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner for the present. Accordingly, his prayer for grant of bail stands rejected.
