Earlier six weeks time was granted to the respondents vide order dated 16.2.2018, yet the respondents have not file counter affidavit.

The present writ petition has been filed by the

Patna High Court CWJC No.1147 of 2018(3) dt.11-05-2018 2/2 petitioners for a direction to the respondents to pay arrears of salary with effect from August, 2016 and current salary. In the matter of payment of salary the respondents are required to verify the record and ascertain whether the appointment of the petitioners is legal and valid and whether the petitioners have actually worked for the period they are claiming salary. Since the respondents have to take final decision on verification of the relevant records, the Court is hereby directing the respondent -District Programme Officer, Khagaria to verify the record and in case it is found that the petitioners' appointment is legal and valid and the petitioners have actually worked for the period they are claiming salary, ensure payment of arrears as well as current salary within a maximum period of 60 days from the date of receipt production of a copy of this order.
