JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 15-07-2024 At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to add the District Magistrate, Patna, as party respondent no.6 to the present petition.

2. Permission, so sought, is granted.

3. Needful be done during the course of the day.

4. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "(i) For issuance of an appropriate writ, order,

Patna High Court CWJC No.8045 of 2024(2) dt.15-07-2024 2/3 direction to grant fire Arms Licence in favour of petitioner after allowing the application filed in this respect on behalf of petitioner. (ii) For issuance of an appropriate writ, order direction to pass final order on the application filed on behalf of petitioner for grant of fire Arms License in his favour."

5. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though an application, for grant of arms license, has been filed by the petitioner in the year, 2014, however, the same has not yet been disposed off.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondent-State submits that in case any application has been filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license and the same is still pending consideration, the same would definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

7. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Patna, to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner

Patna High Court CWJC No.8045 of 2024(2) dt.15-07-2024 3/3 for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order in accordance with, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

8. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
