JUSTICE NANI TAGIA ORAL ORDER 09-05-2025 This contempt petition has been filed alleging violation of order dated 26.11.2018 passed in CWJC No. 3449 of 2012, whereby, the respondent-University was directed to
Patna High Court MJC No.1874 of 2019(4) dt.09-05-2025 2/3 examine and ascertain as to whether the petitioners were granted the benefit of Ph.D. degree in the matter of appointment or promotion. In the event no such benefit was extended to the petitioners at the time of appointment or promotion, the petitioners will be entitled to two advance increments as incentive as per the policy decision. Necessary decision after affording opportunity of hearing shall be taken by the respondent-University within a period of four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
2. Opposite party No. 1 and Opposite party Nos. 2 - 8 have filed show cause.
3. In the show cause filed by Opposite party No. 1, it has been stated in paragraph No. 4 that the claim of the petitioner was examined and thereafter a reasoned order bearing No. 269 dated 02.04.2019 has been passed under the signature of Deputy Registrar (Estt.) of the University, under the order of Vice Chancellor, whereby, the claim of the petitioner has been rejected. A copy of the reasoned order has been enclosed as Annexure - A to the show cause filed by the Opposite party No. 1.
4. The Opposite party Nos. 2 - 8 in the show cause filed have reiterated the stand taken by the Opposite party No. 1.

5. On perusal of the reasoned order bearing No. 269 dated 02.04.2019, passed under the signature of Deputy Registrar (Estt.) of the University, under the order of Vice Chancellor, I find that the order dated 26.11.2018 passed in CWJC No. 3449 of 2012 has been duly complied with by the respondents.
6. In view of the above, this contempt application stands closed and disposed of.
