This application for regular bail arises out of Alauli P.S. Case No. 354 of 2018, disclosing the offence punishable under Sections 304-B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Petitioner is the husband of the deceased. There is allegation in the FIR of demand of dowry soon before the death of the deceased, who was pregnant. It is the specific case of the informant, as disclosed in the FIR, that he was not informed about the death of the deceased and only when the dead body was being cremated, the informant reached there with the police.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that the deceased was pregnant and because of

A copy of the prescription has been brought on record by way of Annexure-2 to this application in support of the plea that the deceased was taken to a polyclinic. I have perused the said prescription, which does not inspire confidence at all.

Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to grant the petitioner privilege of regular bail for the present.

This application is accordingly dismissed. If, however, there is no substantial progress at the trial, the petitioner shall be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after six months.
