The present petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs :- "(i) To issue a writ/order/ direction in the nature of certiorari for quashing the letter dated 24.06.2019 from the Regional Passport Office, Patna intimating the petitioner of impoundment of passport bearing Passport No. 37039735.

(ii) To hold and declare that the action of the Passport Officer in Impounding the Passport of the Petitioner is illegal, unconstitutional, arbitrary and in absolute contravention to the Provisions of the Passports Act, 1967 and also against the Principles of Natural Justice.

Patna High Court CWJC No.9292 of 2022(5) dt.29-08-2023 2/2 (iii) To pass ex-parte/ ad interim ex-parte interim relief during the pendency of the writ application directing the authority to consider the renewal of the passport of the petitioner independent of the order of impoundment herein especially in light of the fact of his requirement to travel abroad.

(iv) To hold and declare that the order impugned shall not come in way in considering the case of petitioner's renewal of passport."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to avail such other alternative remedies, as are otherwise available under the law for redressal of his subsisting grievances. Liberty so sought, is granted.
