JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR UPADHYAY ORAL ORDER 26-02-2021 The present writ application has been filed for a direction to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment on the death of her mother-in-law, who died in harness on 11.06.2005.

The compassionate appointment is not a

Patna High Court CWJC No.9502 of 2020(2) dt.26-02-2021 2/2 reservation. It has been designed to provide financial assistance to a family whose sole bread earner has died so that they can come out from the hardship.

In the present case, the mother-in-law of the petitioner died in the year 2005. We are in the year 2021. After 16 years, the petitioner wants this Court to direct the authorities to consider her appointment on compassionate ground.

The compassionate appointment is not a reservation and the law in this regard is well settled. In view of the above facts and circumstances, this Court is not inclined to issue any direction with regard to the claim of the petitioner.

The writ petition stands dismissed.
