Petitioner has renewed his prayer for bail is languishing in custody since 31.07.2012 in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 20, 22, 23, 24, 27A, 29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The prosecution case is that 9.00 K.g of Nepali Charas has been recovered from the petitioner. From the report of the In-charge 3rd Additional District & Sessions Judge, West Champaran, Bettiah it appears that out of six charge-sheeted witnesses three witnesses and two seizure list witnesses have already been examined and three witnesses are left to be examined and trial is likely to be

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.17986 of 2015 (3) dt.02-03-2016 concluded within a period of six months.

It is expected from the Superintendent of Police, West Champaran, Bettiah to produce the rest of the witnesses at the earliest.

Considering the commercial quantity of recovery and the stage of trial, this Court is not inclined to interfere. Accordingly, this application is disposed of. It is expected from the learned court below to conclude the trial within a period of six months. (Dinesh Kumar Singh, J) P.K./- U T
