1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. That this is an application for issuance of an appropriate writ(s), order(s) or direction(s) for quashing the letter dated 20.07.2017, issued vide letter no. 1270, by which the Respondent no.2 has directed the petitioner to get his Arms licence No.

1887/DM/KPT/May/2007 renewed up till now from 8.5.2010 from the District Kapurthala (Punjab) ignoring the No Objection Certificate (hereinafter referred to as the NOC), issued by the District Magistrate, Kapurthala in respect of the above said Arms licence, vide letter no.958, dated 16.09.2009 and further direct the Respondent no.2 to renew the

Patna High Court CWJC No.17058 of 2018(6) dt.11-09-2024 2/2 petitioner's Arms Licence No.

1887/DM/KPT/May/2007 and enter it in the O.D. Register and also to provide Unique I.D. Number."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the application, filed by the petitioner on 02.02.2018, for the aforesaid purpose.

3. Having regard to the limited prayer, made by the petitioner, in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
