1. Heard learned Counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.
2. This application, for grant of anticipatory bail, arises out of Lakhisarai Police Station Case No. 535 of 2024, dated 12.09.2024, disclosing offences punishable under Sections 85/123/3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

The prosecution case, as per the First Information Report lodged by the father of one Jhanvi Kumari, is that the marriage of the daughter of the informant was solemnized with co-accused Ranjeet Kumar on 18.04.2024 and soon after the marriage, the accused persons started demanding Rs. 10,00,000/- and one katha of land as dowry and due to non-fulfillment of the said demand, the daughter of the
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.34094 of 2025(6) dt.17-12-2025 2/3 informant was subjected to torture and they also administered her poison, due to which the daughter of the informant was admitted in the ICU of Mamta Emergency.
4. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated by the informant in the present case. He further submits that he is not the family member of the husband of the victim; rather, he is a friend of the husband of the victim. He further submits that there is no specific allegation against him. He further submits that the married nanad, brotherin-law and sister-in-law of the victim has been granted anticipatory bail by a bench of this Court, by order, dated 13.08.2025, passed in Criminal Misc. No. 30408 of 2025.
5. Earlier, by order, dated 10.11.2025, the Investigating Officer was directed to send report regarding the whereabouts of the victim. Pursuant to the said order, the Superintendent of Police, Lakhisarai, has sent a report, dated 04.12.2025, stating therein that the daughter of the informant is residing in her matrimonial home, but her mess is separate and all the necessary items are being provided by her in-laws.
6. Regards being had to the submissions advanced on behalf

No.34094 of 2025(6) dt.17-12-2025 3/3 of the parties and taking into consideration the report of the Superintendent of Police, Lakhisarai and the fact that there is no specific allegation against the petitioner, who is the friend of the husband of the victim and the family members of the husband of the victim have been granted anticipatory bail by this Court, I am inclined to grant the petitioner privilege of anticipatory bail.
7. This application is, accordingly, allowed.
8. Let the petitioner, above named, in the event of his arrest or surrender before the Court below within a period of four weeks from today, be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Lakhisarai, in connection with Lakhisarai Police Station Case No. 535 of 2024, subject to the condition laid down under Section 482 (2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
