It appears that after getting an order of release in terms of the order dated 20.12.2017 passed by this Court, the petitioner has lost his interest.

Learned counsel for the State submits that the vehicle in question has already been confiscated vide order dated 10.12.2016 passed by the competent authority in Confiscation Case No. 49 of 2016 but the said order of confiscation or the confiscation proceeding is not under challenge in the present writ application.

Patna High Court CR. WJC No.2243 of 2017(5) dt.22-07-2022 2/2 Be that as it may, since the petitioner is not pursuing the matter despite the earlier indulgence granted to him on 01.07.2022, this writ application is dismissed for want of prosecution.

The Authorised Officer-Cum-Divisional Forest Officer, Sasaram (Rohtas) shall proceed in the confiscation matter in accordance with law.

It will be open for the petitioner to seek his remedy against the order of confiscation before an appropriate court/authority in accordance with law.
