2. Petitioner in paragraph no. 1 of the present writ petition has sought inter alia following relief(s), which is reproduced hereinafter:-
Patna High Court CWJC No.13920 of 2021(4) dt.27-03-2025 2/3 "That this is an application for issuance of a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ(s) order(s) direction(s) for commanding and directing to respondent authorities to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion in the rank of University Professor in political science pursuant to Career Advancement Scheme as approved by the Chancellor of the Universities vide letter no.1715 dated 29.06.2005 and in response to the University letter R/PPU/2020/dated 01/02/2020 and further the petitioner prays for issuance of direction to pay the same with all consequential benefits attached to the post and/or for issuance of such other order/direction for which the petitioner may be found legally entitled to facts and circumstances in this case."
3. The case of the petitioner is that he is seeking his promotion from the post of Associate Professor to the post of Professor, which is dealt in Clause 4.4.0 of the UGC Regulation, 2018 for grant of promotion under CAS, vide memo no.951 dated 05.07.2022.
4. It has been informed on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner has already filed his representation before the Registrar of the University in this regard and the same is pending since the date of its filing.
5. Considering the fact that the Career Advancement Schemed has been approved by Hon'ble the Chancellor of the University, namely Patliputra University, vide Letter No.1715 dated 29.06.2005, as would appear from the statement and the information contained in paragraph no.5 of the counter affidavit
Patna High Court CWJC No.13920 of 2021(4) dt.27-03-2025 3/3 filed on behalf of the State, the University is required to examine the claim of the petitioner in accordance with law, particularly in the light of UGC Regulation 2018.
6. The Registrar of the University, in view of above decision of Hon'ble the Chancellor, is directed to consider the grievance of the petitioner forthwith and take necessary steps for granting financial benefit to the petitioner in accordance with law.
7. With the above observation/direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
