The present petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs :- "(i) To issue rule in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to protect life and property of the petitioners and his family members from the hand of rowdy elements who has formed a group of anti social elements to oust the petitioners from their landed property putting them under threat of life.
(ii) To Command the respondents to take prompt positive action to control them in order to save life and livelihood of the petitioners and his family members, who are bent upon to oust the petitioners from their land, which falls in the locality of private respondents who are taking advantage of being members of SC/ ST and formed a group and want to scare away the petitioners from their rightful possession of the land"

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioners seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioners to approach the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, Gopalganj for redressal of their aforesaid grievances. Liberty so sought, is
