JUSTICE RAVI RANJAN ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 20-06-2016 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the State. Petitioner's firearm licence was suspended vide order dated 01.05.2014 as contained in Annexure 2 to the writ petition on the apprehension that the firearm would be detrimental to the peace and tranquility during the ensuing Lok Sabha Election and further on the ground of his involvement in Darauli Police Station Case No. 48 of 1986.

It is contended on behalf of the petitioner that he was acquitted in the aforesaid criminal case and taking that as a ground, the petitioner has filed an application for revocation of suspension of the firearm licence vide Annexures 4 and 6 but no decision has been taken as yet.

Patna High Court CWJC No.8127 of 2016 dt.20-06-2016 Accordingly, this writ application is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate-cum-Licensing Authority, Siwan, i.e., respondent no. 2, to take a final decision upon the application of filed by the petitioner for revocation of suspension of the firearm licence on its own merit and in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
