This application for anticipatory bail arises out of Lodipur P.S. Case No.18 of 2026 registered for the offence punishable under Sections 191(2), 191(3), 190, 126(2), 115(2), 117(2), 109(1), 76, 324(4), 303(2), 352 and 351(2) of the B.N.S., 2023.

The petitioner and others are said to have assaulted the informant, tried to outrage her modestiy and also resorted to damage the household articles beside taking away cash/ ornaments.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is the father-in-law of the informant and earlier for the death of the son of the petitioner, the daughter-in-law i.e. the informant has been made accused by

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.34399 of 2026(2) dt.07-07-2026 2/2 the petitioner and the present case is nothing but at attempt of the informant to save herself from the earlier case of murder of her husband. It has also been submitted that the petitioner is an old person aged about 63 years.

Learned APP for the State has opposed the prayer of the petitioner for grant of anticipatory bail. 6.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the submissions advanced on behalf of the petitioner, together with the fact that the petitioner is an old person, this application is allowed.

Let the petitioner, above named, in the event of his arrest/surrender within six weeks from today in the Court below, be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned S.D.J.M., Bhagalpur / concerned Court below, in connection with Lodipur P.S. Case No.18 of 2026, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. (Sandeep Kumar, J) pawan/- U T
