The petitioners apprehend their arrest in connection with Banmankhi P.S. Case no. 34 of 2019, registered under Sections 406, 420, 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 / 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The accusation is that marriage of the informant was fixed with Pravin Kumar Rajak, son of Late Mahendra Rajak, resident of village-Banmankhi, P.S. Banmankhi, District-Purnea and Tilak ceremony was also performed and at that time, the date of marriage was fixed on 29.11.2017, but in

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.33565 of 2019(2) dt.22-05-2019 2/3 the meanwhile, Pravin Kumar Rajak asked to defer the date of marriage due to his appearance in BPSC examination. Thereafter, Pravin Kuamr Rajak demanded Rs. Ten Lakhs to her father for purchasing the land. When Pravin Kumar Rajak completed the BPSC examination and joined the service then he made demand of Rs. 25,00,000/-. In the month of July, 2018 Pravin Kumar called the parents of complainant, where her parents were abused and sent the articles as given in Tilak ceremony and obtained signature of parents of the informant on plain paper.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, in fact, the present case has been lodged due to refusing the offer of the father of the informant to perform marriage of the informant with Pravin Kumar. Further submission is that petitioners are mother, married sister and younger brother of Pravin Kumar and they have no criminal antecedent. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, let the above named petitioners, be released on bail, in the event of their arrest or surrender before the learned Court below within a period of four weeks from today, on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate,
