KUMAR) Date : 12-02-2021 This writ petition in the nature of Public Interest Litigation was registered on a letter received from Smt. Meera Devi, r/o District-Begusarai, making a complaint that her 7 years old minor child is missing and in spite of making complaint in a police station, namely Phulwaria in the district of Begusarai, no action is being taken for recovery of minor child. Counter and supplementary counter affidavit have been filed in this case, in which it has been stated that messages have been spread by pasting photograph of missing girl and also in order to get trace of her, steps have been taken by spreading

Patna High Court CWJC No.6855 of 2018 dt.12-02-2021 2/3 message through Newspaper, Social Sites, Whatsapp group and Facebook. The Superintendent of Police, Begusarai has sent photograph of the missing girl for C.I.G publication (Central Intelligence Group). The case is regularly being monitored by the Superintendent of Police, Begusarai and duly supervised by the SDPO, Teghra, who submits his progress report to the Superintendent of Police, Begusarai. The police officer visited the Girl's Shelter Home/ Child Reformatory Centre, Begusarai, Katihar, Bhagalpur and Munger and tried to get information about the missing girl but no clue was found. Local Spy was deputed but no information was received from them. Statement of several independent persons of the local area including the relatives of the victim girl was recorded. Special Investigating Team was constituted in command of SDPO, Teghra by the order of Superintendent of Police, Begusarai to ensure the recovery of missing girl.

From the statement made in the counter affidavit and supplementary counter affidavit, it appears that Superintendent of Police, Begusarai has taken all possible steps to recover the missing girl including constitution of SIT for said purpose and giving wide publication through electronic, print media and pasting the photograph of the missing girl in public places and

Patna High Court CWJC No.6855 of 2018 dt.12-02-2021 3/3 as such this Court is satisfied that all efforts are being made by the police authorities to recover the missing girl, as such, no purpose would be served by keeping this matter pending any further, and accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of, reserving liberty to any public spirited person to approach this Court for same and subsequent cause of action, if so arises.
