Father of the petitioner died on 22.12.2003. The present petitioner claims herself to be the only child and, therefore, has filed the writ application for a direction for compassionate appointment.
Petitioner is married and settled and as per the details furnished in the writ application, somewhere in the district of Gorakhpur in U.P. Since there is no other off-spring and mother has already been authorized pension, there is no liability of any kind on the family, coupled with the fact that the death of the employee happened in the year 2003 and there is no immediate financial crises by loss of the bread-earner.
Patna High Court CWJC No.8020 of 2014 dt.02-09-2016 2/2 Compassionate appointment is not a methodology for providing employment to otherwise unemployed or unemployable children of a government servant. The objectives cannot be lost sight of.
The claim of the petitioner does not come within the settled principles of compassionate appointment. Therefore, the writ application is dismissed.
