The son of the petitioner, Kunal Kishan, had appeared in Class-X examination, held by the Central Board of Secondary Education, in the year 2015, and was declared 'pass'. In the mark sheet, issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education, mother's name/father's name of said Kunal Kishan has been entered as Rekha

The petitioner has a grievance that mother's name has been wrongly mentioned as Rekha Raj, in place of Rekha Ray and father's name has wrongly been printed as Om Prakash, in place of Om Prakash Yadav. He had filed for necessary corrections before the Central Board of Secondary Education in this regard, which has been rejected.
It seems that the reason for rejection of the request for correction in names is because the Central Board of Secondary Education found the petitioner indulging in interpolation with the transfer certificate issued by the School, where said Kunal Kishan had studied in the year 2006, i.e. Holy Family School, Bhagalpur. It is the case of the Central Board of Secondary Education that two copies of the transfer certificates, issued by Holy Family School, Bhagalpur, both, dated 11.10.2006, were made available to the Central Board of Secondary Education in connection with the matter relating to correction of the names of the father and mother of said Kunal Kishan, which indicated that either of the two copies was fabricated. That is the only reason why application for correction has been rejected.
Considering the minor age of the child, who is
Patna High Court CWJC No.14736 of 2016 (3) dt.19-04-2017 3/3 going to be adversely affected by the decision of the Central Board of Secondary Education, which is impugned in the present application, I direct the Central Board of Secondary Education to consider the case for corrections of names of father and mother of said Kunal Kishan, ignoring the alleged interpolation said to have been made at some stage, either by the School or any other person. The exercise must be completed within a period of 08 (eight) weeks from the date of receipt/communication of the present order.
This application stands disposed of.
