The present writ application has been filed by the petitioner for a direction to the respondents to appoint him on compassionate ground notwithstanding the fact that his brother was in Government job.

Compassionate appointment is not a reservation, as it is only designed to extend financial assistance to the family of the deceased employee for bread and butter.

Patna High Court CWJC No.1211 of 2021 dt.10-03-2021 2/2 Since the brother of the petitioner is gainfully employed, the Court does not find any fault in rejecting the claim of the petitioner by the respondents on the ground that one of the brother of the petitioner is in Government job.

The writ application is devoid of merit. It is, accordingly, dismissed.
