The case is registered under Sections 396/397 of the Indian Penal Code, in connection with Brahampura P.S. Case No. 162 of 2012.

The case relates to 'loot' and killing of the husband of the informant way back in 2012. The petitioner was subsequently enlarged on bail and but jumped the same in 2014, remained absconded, never surrendered and only after he was arrested in connection with Ahiyapur P.S. Case No. 307 of 2021 under Section 272, 273 of the IPC read with Section 30(a)/36 of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act 2016 that he was remanded

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.37046 of 2022(2) dt.23-09-2022 2/2 in this case on 23.5.2022.

Considering the fact that the FIR was lodged in 2012 and the trial remained unconcluded only because of the petitioner herein, this Court is not inclined to grant him relief and the bail application is accordingly rejected. Considering the fact that the matter is a decade old, the Trial Court is directed to conclude the trial preferably within a period of one year.
