The petitioners were admittedly engaged on daily wage basis and their services were dispensed with as far back as in the year 1995. Now after 19 years since the date of their disengagement, they have filed the present writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents for their reinstatement on the sanctioned and vacant posts of the State Government. In view of the law laid down by the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Secretary, State of Karnataka Vs. Uma Devi

(3) [(2006) 4 SCC 1], the prayer made on behalf of the petitioners is completely misconceived and cannot be countenanced. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
