JUSTICE RAVI RANJAN ORAL ORDER 29-02-2016 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the State. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he had applied for grant of firearm licence on 20.01.2015 and after necessary enquiry the petitioner was directed to appear in person before the licensing authority on 17.08.2015 and, thereafter, he appeared and was interviewed, however, no final decision has been taken as yet by the licensing authority. Having regards to the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ application is being disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate - cum - licensing authority, Munger to take a final decision in the matter of the petitioner on its own merit and in accordance with law within a period of two months

Patna High Court CWJC No.3613 of 2016 (2) dt.29-02-2016 2 / 2 from the date of receipt / production of a copy of this order, if the same has not already been taken. It is made clear that though the decision would be taken within the aforesaid period but in case the licence is granted to the petitioner, he would be physically handed over the licence only after the forthcoming Panchayat election is over.
