Though the present writ petition has been filed for quashing the order dated 20.02.2019, passed by the respondent no.3, i.e. the District Magistrate, Gopalganj, whereby and whereunder the petitioner has been granted liberty to file fresh application for grant of arms licence, under the provisions of the new Arms Rules, 2016, however the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would definitely be filing a fresh application for grant of Arms Licence, after complying with the requisite formalities under the new Arms Rules, 2016, hence liberty be granted to the petitioner to the said extent but

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to dispose off the present writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate application for grant of arms licence, as per the provisions contained in the new Arms Rules, 2016, and in case such an application is filed within a period of four weeks from today before the District Magistrate, Gopalganj, he shall be obliged to consider the same, in accordance with law, and take a final decision thereon, within a period of six weeks thereafter. 3.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
