2. The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 385, 387 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act.

3. As per prosecution case, this petitioner and some other unknown miscreants demanded ransom from informant and also opened fire upon brother of informant.

4. It is submitted by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner that petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. and name of petitioner has transpired in this case during course of investigation, on the basis of confessional statement of coaccused Ranjan Kumar and Arjun Kumar. There is no specific accusation of overt act against this petitioner.

5. On the other hand, learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner and submitted that it is a case of demand of ransom. It is further submitted that name of petitioner has transpired in this case during course of investigation and petitioner has also got three criminal antecedents out of which two are of similar nature.

6. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances, nature of accusation and criminal antecedents of petitioner, the prayer for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner is rejected. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) shashank/- U T
