====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE RAJIV ROY ORAL ORDER 02-07-2026 Heard Mr. Deepak Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. Shruti Singh for the Mines Department.
2. The present application has been preferred for the following relief(s):
(i) for issuing a writ of Certiorari or any other appropriate writ quashing the illegal seizure of the vehicle of the petitioner bearing Registration No.- NL01AA-4035 which has been illegally illegally seized on 17.04.2026 by the respondents.
(ii) For issuance of a writ of
Patna High Court CWJC No.8580 of 2026(2) dt.02-07-2026 2/3 Mandamus directing the immediate release of the seized vehicle which was seized without following due process of law.
(iii) For directing an independent enquiry of the illegal and coercive actions of police officials of Akbarpur police station, Nawada as well as officials of Mines & Geology Department, Nawada.
(iv) For grant of any relief/s as petitioner may be found entitled in the facts and circumstances of the present case.
3. The matter relates to seizure of the vehicle of the petitioner having Registration No. NL-01AA-4035 which stands seized on 17.04.2026 under Akbarpur Police Station, Nawada.
4. After some argument, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that proper petition shall be filed before the respondent no. 5, the Mineral Development Officer, Nawada in next weeks.
5. Learned counsel for the Mines Department submits that if such petition is filed, it will be taken to its logical conclusion within next two months.
6. This Court must record that a vehicle is under the sky, deteriorating day by day and as such, it is expected from the respondents that once the petitioner prefers petition, a reasoned/ comprehensive order is passed at an earliest and preferably

7. With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition is disposed of.
