"For issuance of an appropriate writ/order/direction upon the State to take appropriate action in the matter of supply of pilferaged drugs to hospitals and also in selling of these drugs in open market and also in the matter of supply of expiry drugs to patients and government hospital. The petitioner further prays for a direction for investigation of the present matter by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)."

This petition was taken up, suo motu on the basis of a news item in the Sunday Times dated 23rd of April, 2017.
