3/4 The petitioners seek a direction to the respondents to consider their cases for being appointed on a permanent/substantive post by giving weightage to them for their having worked as seasonal employees.
2. A group of such seasonal workers had come earlier before this Court vide C.W.J.C. No. 2214 of 2000 and thereafter in M.J.C. No. 1536 of 2015 arising thereof which was disposed of by an order dated 03.01.2019 holding that on consideration of the order passed by the writ Court, the opposite parties have already taken a decision indicating that in matters of appointment, seasonal workers shall be given weightage and age relaxation. Considering this aspect of the matter, the contempt proceeding was dropped.
3. The petitioners have not yet been appointed but it is not the case of the petitioners that anybody else has been appointed or that weightage has not been denied.
4. A representation has been filed by the petitioners before the Chief Secretary and Principal
4/4 Secretary as well as the Departmental Secretary, which representation has not yet been disposed of.
5. It would be open for the petitioners to press such representation and seek benefit of the earlier order of this Court, if any.
6. No further direction is required to be issued in the present writ petition.
7. The writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid observation.
