This application for grant of regular bail arises out of Excise Complaint No. 67 of 2020, registered for the offence punishable under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2018.

From a pick-up van, the Excise Officials seized 547.5 liters of the foreign made liquor. The petitioner was apprehended on the spot. The petitioner is the owner of the vehicle from which the recovery was made.

Considering the huge quantity of illicit liquor, alleged to have been recovered from the petitioner's possession, I am not inclined to grant the petitioner privilege of regular bail. This application is accordingly rejected.

The petitioner shall be at liberty to renew his prayer

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.35359 of 2020(2) dt.12-01-2021 2/2 for bail after six months, if there is no substantial progress at the trial.
