Asthawa, district Nalanda, which is a polytechnic institution.

This application has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to re-evaluate/re-calculate the marks obtained by her in three papers, Chemistry, Computer and Graphics of first semester held for 2016. She has been declared "failed". There is statement made in paragraph 6 of the writ application that she had applied for re-evaluation/re-totaling of the answer sheets and had deposited the requisite fee, but, nothing could be communicated to her in the said record by the respondents.

Learned counsel for the respondent-State of Bihar, on the other hand, has submitted on oral instructions from the Director, State Technical Education, that the petitioner's answer sheets have been scrutinized and no change has been found. Her status as "fail" continues even after scrutiny.
