1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1(i) For issuance of appropriate writ/(s), thereby directing the Respondent No.4 to sanction the freedom fighter Samman Pension in favour of the petitioner whose case has been recommended by the Respondent State of Bihar vide letter dated 15.05.2014 to the Respondent Union of India.

(ii) For consequently issuance of appropriate writ(s) thereby commanding and directing the Respondents to pay the petitioner current and arrears of Samman pension with interest and costs."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner

Patna High Court CWJC No.12477 of 2018(4) dt.31-08-2024 2/2 submits that the Special Secretary to the Government, Home (Special) Department, Government of Bihar, vide letter dated 15.07.2024, has already recommended the case of the petitioner for payment of Freedom Fighter Samman Pension, hence the respondent no.04 be directed to take a final decision, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

3. The learned counsel for the respondent no.04 submits that in case the case of the petitioner has not yet been disposed off, final decision shall definitely be taken, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the respondent no.04 to process the case of the petitioner and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, in case the same has not yet been passed, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
