The petitioner seeks bail in Punaura P.S. Case No.32 of 2020, registered under Sections 304(B) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The informant, father of the deceased, alleged that his daughter was married with Santosh Thakur on 13.12.2015 and went to her Sasural. Thereafter her husband, Santosh Thakur, father-in-law, Jagdish Thakur, brother-in-law, Dhiraj Thakur and mother-in-law, Mira Devi began to demand Rs.1,50,000/- and due to non-fulfillment of demand of additional dowry, they were subjecting her daughter to torture. The informant got information on 28.02.2020 that his daughter was strangulated to death.

No.34308 of 2020(2) dt.05-01-2021 2/2 Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is brother-in-law of the deceased and he has no manner of concern with the family affairs of the deceased and her husband. The deceased was married with Santosh Thakur in the year 2015 and father of the deceased never complained to any competent authority about the ill treatment of his daughter at the hands of her in laws and husband. The petitioner is in jail since 17.04.2020.

Taking into consideration the facts and nature of allegation made against the petitioner and the fact that the petitioner is brother-in-law of the deceased and he is in custody since 17.04.2020, petitioner, namely, Dhiraj Thakur @ Dhiraj Kumar @ Amresh Kumar is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned C.J.M., Sitamarhi in connection with Punaura P.S. Case No.32 of 2020.
