Petitioner seeks bail in S. T. No.184 of 2018 arising out of Navhatta P.S. Case No.151 of 2018 instituted for the offence under Section(s) 302 and other allied sections of Indian Penal Code pending in the Court of the Sessions Judge, Saharsa.

Petitioner is husband of the deceased.

In the written report, it is alleged that petitioner used to commit torture with the deceased for demand of dowry. It is further alleged that daughter of the informant was done to death by setting her on fire after sprinkling kerosene oil. The deceased died in Nursing Home in course of treatment.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.36263 of 2019(3) dt.23-07-2019 2/2 Case diary has been received.

Counsel for the informant submits that witnesses have supported the allegation in the case diary about demand of dowry and committing torture by this petitioner. Counsel for the State submits that postmortem report is available in the case diary. Doctor has found burn injuries on the person of deceased.

In such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Prayer of the petitioner for grant of bail is rejected at this stage.

Petitioner is in custody since 01.10.2018.

The trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and make all efforts to conclude the same as early as possible, preferably, within a period of nine months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
