2. In the instant petition, petitioner has prayed for consideration of his representation as it relates to correction of date of birth from 06.09.1959 to 06.09.1965. Petitioner has not apprised this Court in stating as to what is the date of joining the service so as to examine correction of date of birth is within reasonable period of three years from the date of his appointment or not? That apart, as on the date of presentation of

Patna High Court CWJC No.388 of 2021 dt.13-01-2022 2/2 the present petition, petitioner's age is about 55 years.

3. Time and again Courts have held that for correction of date of birth of an employee, he must approach the competent authority within a reasonable period of three years from the date of joining the service.

4. In the light of these facts and circumstances, petitioner has not made out a case for want of material information. If the petitioner's appointment is stated to be 04.03.2020 to the post of Peon, in that event, the concerned respondent is hereby directed to decide the petitioner's representation within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order without taking note of the aforesaid observation and communicate the decision to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the instant petition stands disposed of.
