2. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:

"(i) For issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus, directing and commanding upon the respondent authorities to expeditiously issue dates for interview for Advertisement No. 01/2021 dated 23.08.2021 issued for the post of Research Investigator by Population Research Centre, Department of Statistics, Patna University, Patna.

(ii) For issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing and commanding upon the respondent authorities to complete the entire selection process initiated vide Advertisement no. 01/2021 issued for the post of research investigator by Population Research Centre,

Patna High Court CWJC No.10058 of 2022(7) dt.20-01-2025 2/2 Department of Statistics, Patna University, Patna.

(iii) To any other relief or relief which the petitioner may be found entitled to in the facts and circumstances of the case."

A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the University in which it is stated that the Advertisement No.01/2021 dated 23.08.2021 for the single Post of Research Investigator (Unreserved Category) in the Population Research Centre, Department of Statistics, Patna University, Patna has been cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, along with the observation that the present writ petition lacks merit. Accordingly, the instant writ petition is dismissed. (Anjani Kumar Sharan, J) anand/- U
