JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 22-07-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1.(A) For issuance of appropriate writ(s), order(s), direction(s) to the respondents concerned to pass a final order against the application dated 16.8.2022 submitted by the petitioner for issuance of Arms License before the District Magistrate, West Champaran.

(B) For a direction to the respondent concerned to issue an Arms license in his favour in the light of endangered life of petitioner by the criminal in the locality."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, West Champaran

Patna High Court CWJC No.8915 of 2024(2) dt.22-07-2024 2/2 at Bettiah, to dispose off the application, filed by the petitioner on 16.08.2022, for grant of arms license.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondentState submits that in case any application has been filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license and the same is still pending consideration, the same would definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, West Champaran at Bettiah, to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order in accordance with, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
