Learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that after the death of his father on 01.03.2006 in police firing, the authorities with a view to rehabilitate the family of the deceased took a decision to allot a PDS license. However, the petitioner was a minor at that point of time therefore, the PDS license was granted in favour of the grand-father of the petitioner. Learned counsel has stated that the petitioner has now become a major and submitted an application along with the requisite documents to transfer the PDS license standing in the name of his grand-

Learned counsel has further stated that the application of the petitioner for transfer of the PDS license is pending with the respondent No. 3 and direction may be given to the respondent No. 3 to expedite the application made by the petitioner.

3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-State has stated that he has no objection if a direction is given to the authority concerned to dispose of the said application made by the petitioner in accordance with law.

4. Having regard to the above, the present writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent No. 3 to dispose of the application made by the petitioner for transferring the PDS license standing in the name of his grand-father to his name as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
