The petitioner seeks bail in Khagria (Mahila) P.S. Case No. 21/2016 registered under Section 498(A) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 / 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The wife of the petitioner made allegation that the petitioner and his family members after marriage began to demand additional dowry and a motorcycle. On 20.03.2016, the petitioner and his relatives assaulted the informant and drove her out from the house. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner never demanded any dowry. The petitioner is in jail since 14.11.2016.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the informant, however, opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that

Considering the nature of allegation made against the petitioner and the fact that the petitioner has remained in jail for more than two months, the above named petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Khagaria in G.R. Case No. 700/16 arising out of Khagaria (Mahila) P.S. Case No. 21 of 2016.
