After seventeen years the name or surname of father of the petitioner in her matriculation certificate is not required to be changed specially when there is no error of any kind committed by the respondent Examination Board in issuance of the certificate indicating the name of the father. The said name has been shown on the basis of declaration made by the petitioner herself.

If the father decides to have change of surname and the petitioner adopted it at a subsequent stage with regard to other examination, she can very well offer the explanation but the prayer made in the writ application is not required to be allowed specially

Patna High Court CWJC No.1452 of 2014 dt.23-02-2015 2/2 when respondent Board is not at fault in issuing Annexure 2 to the petitioner as far as back in the year 1998.

Writ application is dismissed.
