The prayer is for grant of bail to the petitioner who is accused of Agamkuan P.S. case no. 326 of 2013 registered under Section 376 of the IPC.

The allegation is that the petitioner being the husband of the sister of the victim committed rape on her. Vide order dated 01.03.2017 status report was called for which has been received and placed at Flag-'K'. The Presiding Officer of the Court in the said communication has informed that the prosecution evidence has already been closed on 04.03.2017.Argument on behalf of the defence has also been closed on 17.3.2017 and the case is fixed for the argument.

Considering the stage of the case, I am not inclined to release him on bail. Prayer is, accordingly, rejected. (Kishore Kumar Mandal, J) Shyam/- U T
