The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Gandhi Maidan P.S. Case No. 36 of 2018 for the offences punishable under Section 387 of the Indian Penal Code. The allegation is regarding unknown accused persons having contacted the informant on mobile and demanded extortion money, failing which the informant was threatened that his house would be blown.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that merely on the basis of suspicion, the petitioner has been made an accused in the present case. The petitioner is stated to be having a fair antecedent barring one case in which he is on bail. The petitioner is languishing in custody since 09.2.2018.

Case No. 36 of 2018.
