The present petition has been filed to renew the prayer for grant of bail to the petitioner which was earlier twice rejected vide orders dated 21.05.2019 and 27.11.2020 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 16381 of 2019 and Cr. Misc. No. 21423 of 2020 respectively. In pursuance to the direction of this Court vide order dated 13.04.2022, a report with regard to

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.49624 of 2021(3) dt.24-03-2023 2/3 the present stage of the case has been received and it has been kept at Flag-X. The report of the learned District & Sessions Judge, West Champaran, Bettiah dated 20.04.2022 suggests that the case is running for prosecution evidence and out of six witnesses, three witnesses have already been examined.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is in custody since 17.07.2018 and up-till now the trial has not been concluded.

Taking into consideration the recovery of 41 Kgs of Ganja from a vehicle which was driven by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant privilege of bail to the petitioner for the present. The prayer for grant of bail to the petitioner stands rejected. The Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same positively within a period of six months from today.
