JUSTICE RAJEEV RANJAN PRASAD ORAL ORDER 03-01-2023 Mr. Durgesh Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the appellant and Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the claimant-respondent have jointly mentioned this matter. According to them, the parties have settled their dispute and under the settlement the appellant has agreed to pay a sum of Rs. 10,00,000/- to the claimant-respondent in full and final settlement. The parties have filed the mention slip in which the fact as to compromise and quantum of compromise are duly mentioned.

Learned counsel for the claimant-respondent has given his consent on the same.

Patna High Court MA No.304 of 2022(4) dt.03-01-2023 2/2 Mr. Durgesh Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the appellant submits that the aforementioned payment shall be made within a period of four weeks from today. By the impugned order, the Deputy Labour Commissioner-cum-Workmen Compensation Commissioner has directed the appellant-company to pay the compensation amount of Rs. 11,78,281/- with interest thereon of Rs. 2,41,080/-, therefore, the appellant has been made liable to pay a sum of Rs. 14,19,361/-.

As a result of the settlement between the parties, this Court modifies the impugned order and the appellant is directed to pay the settlement amount of Rs. 10,00,000/-(Ten Lakhs) to the claimant within a period of four weeks from today with full and final settlement.

This appeal stands disposed of accordingly.
