It appears that the only dispute which remains is whether the petitioner is entitled to up-to-date interest on his National Saving Certificates which though were maturing in the year 2010 and a direction to return the original instruments was passed in the year 2007, the same could only be encashed by him in the year 2015 as the department could not trace and return the same in time. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that as per her instructions, interest has been paid till 18.04.2015 i.e. when the payments were made to the petitioner.

Patna High Court CWJC No.428 of 2015 dt.04-01-2016 2/2 Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has not received any instruction from his client.

In view of the categorical stand taken on behalf of the respondents that the interest till 18.04.2015 has been paid, the Court does not find any necessity to keep the writ petition pending, which accordingly, stands disposed off.
