2. In the instant petition, petitioners have prayed for following reliefs:- " i) Issuance of a writ in the nature of writ of mandamus directing the

Patna High Court CWJC No.1757 of 2021 dt.24-01-2022 2/2 respective authorities to appoint the petitioners on compassionate ground on account of death of the husband/father who died during their service period of Nagar Parishad Sasaram.

ii) Issuance of any other writ(s) or order(s) or direction(s) which may be deemed fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case."

3. Husband of petitioner no. 1, late Sheo Shankar Prasad died on 25.04.2019, consequently petitioner no. 1 filed application on 18.07.2019 seeking compassionate appointment. Thereafter, there are protracted correspondence. However, competent authority has not decided the petitioners' grievance.

4. Therefore, the competent authority is hereby directed to decide the petitioners' grievance and pass a suitable order and communicate the same within a period of eights weeks from the date of receipt of this order, failing which, respondent-department is liable to pay litigation cost to the petitioners and it is quantified @ Rs. 25,000/- (P.
