The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "That this writ application is being filed for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus or direction to the respondent District Magistrate - Cum - Collector, Madhepura for consider the application dated 06.01.2022 which has filed for issuance of the Arms license of N.P Bore pistol, soon after filing application, recommended made by the Officer-In-Charge, Puraini, S.I., C.I. Puraini, Dy. S.P. and Sub Divisional Officer, Udakishunganj and S.P., Madhepura and same was forwarded before District Magistrate-Cum-

Patna High Court CWJC No.9948 of 2023(2) dt.29-08-2023 2/2 Collector, Madhepur for Arms license but application of the petitioner has not considered as yet and further give other legal consequential benefit to the petitioner."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Madhepura to consider the pending application of the petitioner dated 06.01.2022, for grant of arms licence, and pass appropriate orders, within a stipulated time frame.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner, in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Madhepura to consider the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner for grant of arms licence, in case the same has been filed and is still pending, and dispose off the same by a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
