The petitioner are mother-in-law and sister-in-law of the deceased. On the basis of complaint petition, Panapur P.S. Case No. 140 of 2019 was instituted on 13th of July 2019 registered under Sections 341, 323, 307, 498(A)/34 and 304(B) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3⁄4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

The allegation is that the deceased was married to Md. Reyaz on 29th of March, 2019. However, from day one, the family members started demanding dowry. When the deceased

No.50935 of 2021(3) dt.01-04-2022 2/2 father showed his inability to meet the demand, within three months of the marriage i.e. on 9th of June, 2019, they poured kerosin oil on the body of the deceased and put her on fire. All the accused persons thereafter fled away from home. It was the villagers, who ran to her rescue, took her to the hospital and later the lady succumbed to the burn injury allegedly inflicted by the accused persons.

In the aforesaid facts, I am not inclined to grant the privilege of bail to the petitioners herein which is accordingly rejected.
