The petitioner is in judicial custody in connection with Birpur P.S. Case No. 167 of 2020 dated 04.12.2020 under Sections 216(A), 413, 465, 420, 412, 414 and 176 of the Indian Penal Code.

The case as alleged in the FIR is that robbery was committed in the State Bank of India branch at Thakurichak and subsequently it is alleged that looted properties were seized from the house of the petitioner.

No.50286 of 2021(4) dt.17-05-2022 2/2 In this case case diary and criminal antecedent report of the petitioner was called for which has now been received and perused by the learned APP for the State. Considering the fact that the petitioner has been found to be the king pin around whom the entire story relating to the present FIR revolves i.e. the robbery of the State Bank of India branch at Thakurichak, as also the fact that he is an accused in eight (8) criminal cases from 1993 till date which put him in the category of habitual offender, this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to him.

The bail application is hereby rejected.

Considering the nature of allegation against the petitioner, it is expected that the Trial Court will take up the matter on a serious mode and conclude the same even taking it on a day-to-day basis at the earliest.
