The appellant has preferred the present appeal under Section 14A(2) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against the order dated 20.05.2022 passed by the learned 1st Additional Sessions Judgecum-Special Judge, SC/ST Act, Purnea in Special (SC/ST) Case No.72 of 2020/CIS No.72 of 2020 (arising out of K. Hat P.S. Case No.261 of 2020), whereby the prayer for regular bail on behalf of the appellant for the offence punishable under Sections 147, 148, 149, 341, 323, 302, 506 of the I.P.C. and Section 3(2) (V) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, has been

Appellant's prayer for bail was earlier rejected on 20.09.2021 in Cr.Appeal (SJ) No.1703 of 2021. He has renewed his prayer for bail.
It is submitted by the learned counsel for the informant that the last prosecution witness, namely, Investigating Officer, is to be examined, for which today is the date fixed in the trial.
In view of the progress in the trial and having regard to the fact that it is on the verge of conclusion, this Court is not inclined to entertain the bail application. The same is dismissed. Consequently, the appeal is dismissed.
