The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with Kalyanpur P.S. Case No. 240 of 2018 instituted for the offences punishable under Sections 307, 498(A)/34 and 304(B) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3, 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is a complete stranger to the family and his name is being included merely on the basis of being a friend of the brother-in-law of the deceased, earlier his name was not mentioned by the deceased in his statement under Section 161 of the Cr.P.C.

In view thereof, I am inclined to allow the petitioner

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.54237 of 2021(2) dt.22-02-2022 2/2 on bail, in the event of arrest he shall be released on anticipatory bail, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438(2) of the Cr.P.C.
